Kay and Brenda

Kay Warren and Brenda Ould live at Frank Howe Court, a sheltered scheme in Milton Keynes. They were nominated for the ‘Good Neighbour’ award. The nomination reads:

“[Kay and Brenda] are not just good neighbours, but make an outstanding contribution to making Frank Howe Court into the community we all enjoy. They run all social activities on court, making sure that all residents and the elderly from the community are welcome and catered for.

They organise ad hoc trips and events such as mulled wine with mince pies at Christmas and hot cross buns at Easter.

Kay organises shopping for residents when she makes her weekly food order. They take the initiative in suggesting new activities and ensure that they take place successfully. In all their activities, they view the social interaction between all residents is of primary importance, rather than just the content of the activity.

But they do not stop at just doing things. If anyone has a problem when the court manager is not available, it is Kay or Brenda that they turn, and from whom they receive help and support.  In short, the Frank Howe Court community would be a shadow of its present self without them.”
