Residents celebrate £50,000 lounge makeover
Residents at a retirement housing scheme in High Wycombe celebrated a £50,000 makeover of their lounge.
The residents at Jackson Court, one of our retirement courts in Hazlemere, were joined by the vice chairman of Wycombe District Council and other dignitaries for a special event on Wednesday (September 9) to officially open the new communal area at the scheme.
The room was redecorated, fitted with new furniture and altered so that it now opens out into a conservatory and has a bigger kitchen for residents and staff to use.
The work was completed as part of our major investment programme to renovate the retirement housing schemes we manage up and down the country.
Keith Stacey, chair of the Jackson Court Residents’ Association, said: “The revamp has made a huge difference for everyone living at the court.
“It has made the lounge more open, bigger and brighter and means we can enjoy our social activities in a really nice space. The alterations also mean the kitchen is much bigger and far more practical.
“It was great to showcase this huge improvement to the local community.”
James McCarthy, our director of retirement housing, said: “We are delighted to complete the renovation at Jackson Court and improve the facilities for residents.
“Residents at the court enjoy a busy calendar of social activities and we wanted to support that by giving them a space suitable to enjoy them.
“This work is part of a large investment programme to complete similar works to our many retirement courts up and down the country and we look forward to making more major improvements in this area and further afield.”
