Our residents in Oldham enjoy health-inspired event
How to stay healthy into old age was the theme as our residents in Oldham attended their annual conference.
More than 40 residents, who live at our retirement housing and extra care schemes in the borough, attended the event on Tuesday (November 24), at St Herbert’s Parish Centre, in Chadderton.
Residents from schemes like Tandle View Court, Hopwood Court and Old Mill House, got to hear a range of speakers from the likes of Voluntary Action Oldham, Age UK, Oldham Community Leisure, Making Space and Manchester Fire Service talk about everything from volunteering opportunities to staying healthy and keeping active.
The event also had a festive theme with Christmas decorations and festive treats and the choir from Radclyffe School provided entertainment, including Christmas carols.
Lees resident, Lynne Appleton said: The speakers were all very enjoyable and informative. It was just a great day all round.
“It must take so much organising and I’m so grateful to the staff, there was nothing they could improve.”
Janice Crompton, Housing Services Manager in Oldham, said: “The event gave us an opportunity to thank our residents for all their support and hard work throughout this last year. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves immensely and that’s just what we wanted.”
