Oldham residents bowled over at inaugural tournament

Our residents in Oldham were bowled over as they took part in our first ever tournament.

Around 50 residents took part in the bowls competition which was arranged for people living at our housing schemes in Oldham.

It was held at St George’s Square in Chadderton with residents from a total of ten schemes taking part. The team from Tandle View Court, one of our extra care schemes in the town, took first prize.

The event was one of many sponsored by Cruden Property Services, our repairs and maintenance contractor, which also entered teams into the competition.

Bridget Guilfoyle, project director in Oldham, said: “The event was fantastic and it was great to see so many residents taking part and getting involved in the competition.

“Events like this are great for the community spirit and brought everyone together for a day of fun and enjoyment.

“A big thank you must go to Cruden for sponsoring the event and to the St George’s Square over 60s club who allowed us to use the green and were a great help to those who took part.”

Mark Burns, Managing Director of Cruden Property Services, said: “We are delighted that the inaugural bowling competition gave so much pleasure to all the participants who competed fairly with fun and enthusiasm.

“Already we are looking forward to next year’s event and to continuing our commitment to provide Housing & Care 21 residents with appropriate opportunities to increase their wellbeing.”
