Christmas comes early at Erdington House!
Tuesday 18 November 2014
The chance to get in some boutique festive shopping has arrived, with the Erdington House Christmas Craft Fair in Yarnton this Friday 21 November.
The extra care housing scheme, run by Housing & Care 21, will host the yuletide extravanganza in the large communal lounge.
Due to the success of last year’s event, Erdington House will be running over twenty stalls with plenty of handmade affordable gifts on offer. Jewellery, cards, decorations, ornaments, candles and cushions will decorate the stalls, in addition to professional hair and nail gift packs, accessories and various stocking fillers.
The local community has been pulling together and will be displaying a number of wood, stainless glass and silver crafted items for sale. Woodcraft from Kigari in Rwanda will also be on sale, with all profits going back to the village they were made in.
A raffle and refreshments will be available, with a selection of hot drinks including mulled wine.
Darren Cova, court manager, said: “Last year’s event was a great hit, and we’re all getting excited to welcome people to the fair this year.
“It’s always great to get a bit of shopping done early, and our Christmas Fair provides the perfect place to find some one-off gifts for loved ones!
In addition, if people are interested in viewing a property at Erdington House, they are welcome to have a tour on the night.”
A proportion of the funds raised from the event will go towards the residents’ Christmas party. Entry is 50p (free for children.)
The event takes place from 6:30pm - 9:00pm at Erdington House, Cresswell Close, Yarnton, Oxfordshire OX5 1FZ, on Friday 21 November.
Extra care housing gives older people independence and choice. Developments comprise of self-contained homes with design features and a care service (if needed) to support independent living.
