Mini-games being held at extra care scheme

Whilst the rest of the country is getting geared up for the real Olympic Games, an extra care housing scheme in Walsall will be transformed for the afternoon when residents, staff and day centre users host their own mini-games event.

The event will start at 2pm with a mock torch run around the outside of Winehala Court with Vanessa Mason, a day care assistant, pushing a resident or service user in a wheelchair, doing five laps with a different person for each lap. This will be followed by a variety of whacky activities including a Zimmer frame race, archery, bowls, basketball and bean bag shot put.
