Art project at Housing 21 scheme
Creative students are putting their mark on Housing 21's newest extra care housing development in Sandwell by designing a set of commemorative plates.
Talented pupils at Perryfields High School Maths and Computing College in Oldbury designed the plates, which include landmarks from around the borough, now on display in the lounge at Housing 21's Queensridge Court.
The 12 to 15-year-olds worked with staff from Housing 21, Sandwell Council and their art teacher Fiona Griffin to produce the collection of ceramics.
Queensridge Court, a partnership between the Housing 21, Sandwell Council and the Homes & Communities Agency (HCA), includes 87 self-contained apartments for people over 55 with 24 hour care and community facilities.
The apartments will be rented or purchased through shared ownership and the development in Queensway includes a hair and beauty salon and restaurant, which will both be open to the public.
