Maidstone extra care scheme opens
A new extra care scheme for older people in Maidstone was officially opened on Monday 21st June. To mark the occasion residents of both Tovil Green Court and nearby Pine Court, were presented with plaques.
Tovil Green Court, developed by Housing 21 in partnership with Kent County Council and Maidstone Borough Council, provides residents with a range of communal facilities including:
- communal lounge
- hairdressing salon
- internet cafe
Tovil Green provides forty one and two bedroom apartments offering tenants independent living in a communal scheme along with 24 hour care and support services should they need them.
The apartments are designed for wheelchair access and each have:
- living room
- fully fitted kitchen
- walk-in shower
- non-slip flooring to the kitchen and bathroom.
Nearby Pine Court is a seven bedroom unit providing supported accommodation for adults with learning disabilities.
The development is part of the £72 million Better Homes Active Lives project to deliver more homes across the county for older people.
