Knaves Court tree planting

Knaves Court, Housing 21's new extra care scheme for older people in Brownhills, Walsall was a step nearer to completion this week with a special tree planting ceremony.

Housing 21 staff were joined by soon-to-be tenants, Elsie Hill and Bill Parker, and representatives of the project partners - Walsall Borough Council and Willmott Dixon - for the occasion. Elsie and Bill, who will be among the first to move into Knaves Court when it completes in September, planted a tree at the site.

Knaves Court will provide 60 one and two bedroom spacious apartments for rent or shared ownership. On-site facilities open to the local community will include:

  • hairdressing salon
  • restaurant
  • shop.

The accommodation aims to provide independent living along with access to 24 hour care tailored to meet individual needs.

Knaves Court is the third extra care scheme to be provided under the £165 million project to re-provide older people's housing across the borough.

Anyone who is interested in applying for a rented apartment at Knaves Court should contact Walsall Borough Council on 0845 111 2827 or, for a shared ownership apartment, Housing 21's sales team on 0345 608 4021.
