Partnership talks with Gharana Housing Association
Housing 21, Britain’s leading social enterprise specialising in housing, care and health for older people today announced it has agreed to form a partnership with the Gharana Housing Association based in Northamptonshire and to complete formal arrangements by end of March 2011.
The partnership with Gharana will ensure the continued provision of high quality, culturally appropriate care for the existing residents and service users and will be consistent with Housing 21’s own strategic vision to integrate care and health services and so be able to offer more choice and availability for older people. Its new partner will provide Housing 21 with the expertise and skills required in developing and managing culturally appropriate services for older people from BME communities, an area of further development for Housing 21 in future years.
The partnership will be subject to full consultation and with the tenants and directors of the housing association.
Pushpa Raguvaran, Chief Executive of Housing 21 said: “Gharana is an outstanding organisation providing high quality culturally appropriate housing and support services and we are very fortunate they have chosen to partner with us. We all believe that by working together we can learn from each other and enhance the quality of the services we provide across our organisations.”
Chairperson of the Gharana Housing Association, Pratima Dattani added: “Gharana Housing Association has had a very positive partnership with Notting Hill Housing Association and is now very pleased to be working with Housing 21 . Both organisations offer high quality housing and care support to older people, and our local community focus means that we will strengthen each other as we move towards supporting more older people and strengthening local communities. I look forward to working with Pushpa and her team and feel this is a positive step forward for our organisation.”
