Housing 21 to find a suitable purchaser for the Complete Group
Housing 21, the leading national social enterprise providing care, health and housing for older people, today announces it has decided to find a suitable purchaser for the Complete Group, which it acquired last year as part of the purchase of Claimar Care plc.
The Complete Group is a national provider of bespoke domiciliary care packages to individuals with complex care needs. Many clients are ventilator dependent, young people with head or spinal injuries and this service enables them to continue living in their own homes. Considered to be a leader in its field, the Complete Group was a major part of Claimar Care plc which was bought by Housing 21 in 2009.
As part of the process of integrating the Claimar businesses, a formal review of the Complete Group has taken place. As a result, it has been decided that the excellent work Complete does may be best developed and expanded under a new owner. The process is now starting to find a suitable purchaser for the business.
A spokesperson for Housing 21 said: "Developing a stronger domiciliary care offering was why we bought Claimar Care plc and we are making good progress in integrating it with Housing 21 where our mission is to provide independence and choice for older people through quality housing, care and support.
"The Complete Group is a vibrant, successful and growing business with a strong team and we fully expect the process we are announcing today will result in identifying the right home for Complete, its clients and the staff who care for them. The overarching aim is to ensure that the business can continue to develop and thrive."
The formal review and sale process of the Complete Group is being carried out for Housing 21 by Andy Parker, a partner of PwC, and his team. It is hoped the result of the review will be announced later in the year.
