Non-executive Directorships, £10,000 - 20 days per annum

You've succeeded in the boardroom and are now looking for a new direction. A non-executive directorship with Housing 21 is an opportunity to exercise your mind and your business skills in an organisation that is not for profit but all for performance.

Our challenge is to promote independence and choice for older people through the provision of quality housing, care and support. We are one of the country's leading, progressive and influential providers with a turnover approaching £135 million and a £600 million property portfolio. In 2006 we entered the PFI and PPP market. Since 2007, Housing 21 has received the biggest allocation of public funding for new accommodation for older people. In 2009 we became the first social enterprise to bid for a public company.

We're looking for two non-executive directors with property, social/healthcare, investment or City finance experience and a sound commercial background. These are key roles in shaping our strategies and the organisation's future direction. Supporting the executive team, you will contribute both insight and initiative, offer advice and ideas and ensure we forge productive links with our business partners in the private sector, capitalising on the business opportunities these represent. It is essential that you have a genuine interest in the issues affecting social care, housing and older people. In return, we can offer a stimulating role and the chance to work with a high calibre board on which you can make a real difference to the quality of life of older people.
