Extra care contract win in North Tyneside

Housing 21 has been awarded the contract for the provision of care and housing support services at the new Rowan Croft extra care scheme in North Tyneside.

The success is particularly exciting as our submitted tender and subsequent presentation picked up the highest score ever achieved by a care provider in a competitive tendering process in North Tyneside, scoring a whopping 95% of the available marks. It is also testament to the excellent quality of service provided by the existing North Tyneside care team.

Housing 21 has been working in partnership with North Tyneside Council and Frank Haslam Milan on the construction and management of Rowan Croft, which has been built on the site of the former Sir James Bowman House residential care home. The new scheme of 45 two bedroom apartments will benefit older people in the borough who have care and support needs, including those with dementia.

It will also have a purpose built day centre for use by older vulnerable adults from across the borough, providing social opportunities and respite care. The contract for the provision of day care will be subject to a separate tendering exercise and Housing 21 has commenced its bid for this service.
