About Kingsway

Kingsway Court lies in the town of Blackburn in Lancashire, close to a wide range of local amenities including a nearby shopping centre. The court offers a range of social activities and there are plenty of amenities just on the doorstep.

The court is conveniently located just five minutes walk from the bustling town centre, with markets, high street stores, banks and a post office. Additionally you can find independent shops, theatres, parks, and a cathedral nearby. The range of entertainment and leisure facilities in the vicinity includes a cinema, ice rink, numerous eating places and coffee bars. Entertainment facilities can also be found at the well-known Blackburn Rovers football club.

Most major supermarkets are within easy reach of the court. Blackburn’s new Health Centre is situated just a few minutes away, as are a number of places of worship.

Buses run frequently from a stop just 100 yards from the court and the railway station is 20 minutes’ walk away, providing connections to the wider region.

Kingsway Court has a wide range of onsite facilities including two communal lounges, a church, multi-faith room, restaurant, and hair and nail salon. A scooter store, car park, guest room with seating area, kitchenette and walk-in shower also offer you convenience. The restaurant, salon and church are open to the public.

The court is surrounded by extensive and well-maintained gardens with plenty of seating and a water feature and pergola. The gardens are child-friendly and attract a variety of birds, butterflies and squirrels.

Life at Kingsway

Kingsway Court is a friendly development with a wide range of social activities for residents to enjoy including coffee mornings, bingo sessions, exercise classes and an art group which displays their work in the restaurant. The social committee is very active and many social evenings are arranged. Social activities also take place outside when the weather allows and the court has previously hosted summer fetes and garden parties. Regular events are arranged by the partners of Kingsway (the church, carers’ organisation and the court) and include table-top sales, fund raising events and outings.
