About Applegarth Court
Applegarth Court is located in a quiet and peaceful spot in the historic old town area of Bridlington, a popular seaside town on the East Yorkshire coastline.
There is always something going on in Bridlington including dance festivals, vintage car fairs, the annual old town festival, car boot sales, fetes, markets and candle-lit parades and carols at Christmas.
Bridlington has a variety of larger supermarkets, a post office, hairdresser, chemist, library and an award-winning fish and chip shop. The town has a range of places to eat and drink, from cafés to fine dining, as well as many pubs, social clubs, banks, amusement arcades, gyms and leisure activities.
Nearby attractions include the Bempton Cliffs bird sanctuary, the Spotlight amateur dramatic theatre, the recently refurbished Victorian Spa Theatre and the Yorkshire Wolds. Bridlington is surrounded by many pretty villages which all offer their own attractions and events. Sewerby Park and the Park Rose Pottery and Bird of Prey Centre are all a few miles out of town.
Local buses run into town regularly from a stop near the court along the coast to Skipsea, Hornsea and Withersea, or to nearby Driffield, Beverley and Hull. Bridlington has a train station 10 minutes away which operates regular services to Hull. There are also many reliable taxi companies in the area.
Applegarth Court has a range of onsite facilities for residents including a communal lounge, activity lounge, laundry, two guest rooms, hairdressers, beauty room, shop and restaurant. The court has a day centre and a respite unit which is run by the Local Authority.
The court has a large garden with raised beds, planters and a pleasant seating area with a barbeque where residents can relax and enjoy the fresh air or have lunch in the summer. Green-fingered residents are welcome to join in with the gardening if they choose. The garden is child friendly and safe for the pets that some of the residents keep.
Life at Applegarth CourtApplegarth Court offers residents independent living in a friendly and supportive environment, with its own social committee. The court offers a range of social activities including regular bingo sessions, monthly entertainments, games afternoons, coffee mornings, kit fit groups, social groups and musical evenings. There is also a pool table and a dart board for residents to use. The ground floor of the court is open to the local community, who are invited to join in with events at the court and use the facilities.
